DAB pumps, straight answers
The things growers ask us most when sizing and setting up their DAB pump.
It comes down to two things: your peak flow demand (how much water moves through the system at its busiest moment, in GPM) and your vertical lift (how high the water has to travel). Our pump finder above walks you through it in about ten seconds. As a rough guide: the Esybox Mini 3 suits small rooms and low flow, the Esybox covers mid-size multi-zone grows, and the Esybox Max handles whole facilities. The Jetcom is built for RO and well feed, the Euroinox for quiet recirculation.
Dosatron sizing is driven by flow rate, not how many injectors you run. The D14 handles up to 14 GPM and covers most single-room and small commercial grows. The D25/D26 goes up to 26 GPM, and the D40 up to 40 GPM for larger operations. Your pump needs to deliver enough flow and steady pressure at the Dosatron inlet — the Esybox inverter models hold constant pressure, which is ideal for consistent dosing. Shop Dosatron →
It depends on the model and how your space is wired. The Esybox Mini 3 and Jetcom 132 run on either 115V or 230V. The full-size Esybox and Esybox Max are 230V. If you are not sure what your room is set up for, confirm it before ordering — matching voltage to your facility is the single most important thing to get right.
It depends on your peak simultaneous demand. A single Esybox or Esybox Max can pressurize a whole facility as long as total flow stays within its range. The Esybox Max is modular — you can run up to four units together for higher flow without re-plumbing. For most grows one correctly-sized pump covers the building; very large or multi-building sites are where multiple units come in.
As a rule, the closer and lower the pump sits to its water source, the better. The Esybox and Euroinox work best with flooded suction — fed from a reservoir at or above pump level. The Jetcom is self-priming, so it tolerates drawing water up from a lower tank, well or cistern, which makes it the flexible choice for RO and clean-water feed. Long runs and vertical lift both reduce pressure at the far end, so factor those in.
Yes. The Esybox and Esybox Max are designed to run in groups — you can start with one unit and add more in parallel as your operation grows, without replacing what you already have. If you expect to expand, it is worth telling us up front so we can size your first pump with headroom rather than locking you into a unit you will outgrow.
Absolutely — this is what we do. We size pumps for fertigation, RO feed, recirculation and whole-facility pressure every day, and a pump is often the start of a bigger build. Run the pump finder for a starting point, then call us to confirm flow, lift and plumbing before you order. Five minutes on the phone saves a lot of hassle later.
