Hortitech 30'x48' Semi-Gable Auto External Light Deprivation Greenhouse

The semi-gable frame offers more headroom and growing space compared to quonset shaped designs. Its shape allows for snow shed and more room to add truss reinforcement.

Our greenhouse frames are made up 2 3/8” sidewall posts (0.095ga), 1 7/8” arches (0.090 ga), and 1 3/8” purlin (0.065ga). 2” square tubing (0.065ga) is used for end wall framing kits include the uprights and horizontal wall pieces required for supports and rough openings. Hardware such as brackets and screws are included.

Wire lock, commonly referred to as “wiggle wire” is the industry standard for attaching greenhouse plastic to the greenhouse. For 6mil plastics use PVC coated wire, for woven plastics use galvanized wire. Hortitech manufactures its own aluminum deep channel base capable of fitting multiple layers of plastic and wiggle wire.

Custom heavy duty galvanized metal ducting is used to bring in fresh air into the internal grow space. Light traps block light from entering through intake and exhaust openings when the greenhouse is blacked out.

Film reelers are simple mechanisms the spin a roll bar in order to roll up plastic. They can be automatic or manual. Film reelers come standard with adapter for 1 3/8” OD pipe.

These assemblies consist of telescoping arms, swivel brackets and galvanized 2” square tubing. They serve as the anchor and pivot mechanism for the manual or automatic film reelers. These are essential in roll to peak light deprivation systems.

Light traps are used to block light from entering through intake and exhaust openings when the greenhouse is blacked out. Hortitech light trap housings are made from heavy duty galvanized sheet metal.

Modine has become the industry standard in forced hot air heaters. The PTP series is an exceptional greenhouse heater that blows dry air. Covered by a 2 year manufacturers warranty, must be installed by a licensed plumber.

Horizontal air flow fans greatly improve plant transpiration by stirring the air. Reduces heating cost by distributing air evenly throughout the greenhouse. Increased air flow strengthens plants and grows thicker stems to support larger fruits.

Aluminum intake shutters automatically open when exhaust fans turn on to allow fresh air into the greenhouse.

Exhaust fans are sized to evacuate the full volume of greenhouse air within one minute to prevent the greenhouse from getting hotter than the ambient outside temperature. At night, these units are great options for controlling humidity.

Two layers of poly in conjunction with an inflation blower create a bubble of air insulation around the greenhouse. Gives the greenhouse an R value around 1.25. This inflation layer also greatly reduces condensation.

Greenhouse frames can be strengthened with truss reinforcement. These packages can be designed to add reinforcement to every bow or every other bow. This is recommended in areas with high wind or snow.

Sliding doors are more resilient to wind than swinging doors. Door kits come with trolley rail, door hangers, door handle, stay roller, and door catch. Note that the cover is not included.

Our 9mil woven clear greenhouse covering has an anti condensate coating and a 87% light transmission. This heavy duty poly has a lifespan of 5-8 years depending on the site conditions.
