Hortitech Direct is a highly competitive commercial supply store. Many items are costly to ship and manage returns for. We keep our prices low in part by keeping our return policy fairly strict. Some supply stores have generous return policies but simply build that into their price structure. In contrast, we keep our prices are low as we can and let you manage return costs yourself.
Return Categories:
- Defective within 30 days - returnable
- Defective after 30 days - non-returnable
- Changed your mind - may be returnable with a restocking fee
Return Policy Details
If an item is defective and you notice while inspecting prior to accepting the shipment, simply refuse the shipment for the fastest resolution. If you've accepted the shipment and notice within 30 days that a product is defective you can obtain an RMA from us, return it, and upon inspection, we can credit your account or replace the item. If you've changed your mind after a product is shipped it may be returnable. Reach out to us to find out. If it is, you may be charged a restocking fee of 15-30% depending on the item and must pay for return shipping.
You Must Obtain an RMA
A return merchandise authorization must be obtained prior to returning any purchases regardless of the reason of return.
Non-Returnable Products
Unless defective special order, custom products, heaters, and some other select items are non-returnable. Custom greenhouses are made to order. Once the steel is cut you are committed to your purchase. Heater manufacturers generally do not accept returns. Please carefully inspect heaters before accepting shipments. If you have any questions we're happy to help.
Refuse Defective Merchandise!
It is the customer's responsibility to inspect the merchandise before accepting delivery. If a shipment shows any sign of damage simply refuse the damaged looking parcels. This greatly speeds up the replacement process.
Drop Shipments and Returns
Some of our products are drop shipped directly to you from the manufacturer to dramatically reduce shipping costs. Drop shipped products are subject to manufacturer specific return policies which may include restocking fees and require you to pay return shipping. Some do not accept returns.
