Simplify your nutrients by directly installing Dosatron Doser into the water line

Installed on the water supply line, the Dosatron uses water pressure as the only power source. Thus activated, it takes up the required percentage dose of concentrate and then mixes it with the moving water. The solution produced is then propelled downstream. The dose of injected product is always proportional to the volume of water passing through the Dosatron, regardless of variations in flow or pressure in the water supply line

With flow up to 40 GPM, can be installed in parallel to increase the water flow. 63% fewer parts, metal free piston.

40 GPM is the max flow rate for the D40 series

Seal Options

  • Viton Seals

Generally used for products with neutral to acidic pH. Ex: fertilizers, pesticides, acids (pH correction), supplements, surfactants

  • Aflas Seals

Generally used for products with a higher than neutral to alkaline pH. Ex: pH up products, calcium hydroxide (liquid lime), calcium carbonate, potassium carbonate

  • Kalrez Seals

Used specifically for Peracetic acid (also known as peroxyacetic acid, or PAA) products. Ex: ZeroTol, SaniDate, etc.

Dilution / Injection Range

The Ratio Range for doser dilution is the range of rates that doser can be adjusted to for specific amount of chemical injection into the water supply. Most dosers can be adjusted within a range of dilution amounts and other dosers have fixed dilution amounts.

EX: Dilution range of 1:500 to 1:50 gives us a percentage of solution to water of 0.2% to 2%. This essentially tells us the percentage of chemical mixture dosed into the water supply.

The ratio and percentages are also commonly view in the following units.

  • mL/gal
  • tsp/gal
  • oz/gal

D40 Ratio Ranges

Ratio Range mL/gal tsp/gal oz/gal
1:100 to 1:20 37.5 to 190 mL 7.5 to 38 tsp 1.280 to 6.4 oz
1:500 to 1:20 7.5 to 190 mL 1.5 to 38 tsp 0.256 to 6.4 oz
1:500 to 1:50 7.5 to 75 mL 1.5 to 15 0.256 to 2.56 oz
1:3000 to 1:500 1.25 to 7.5 mL 0.25 to 1.5 tsp 0.043 to 0.256

Dosatron Model Name Definitions.

There are several Dosatron Dosers with similar models numbers that vary by only 1 or 2 letters. BE SURE to make a selection based on your exact needs!

Units with HY in the name are specifically meant for the Dosatron NDS - Nutrient Delivery System. Units with "HY" in the model number include a SCH 80 Threaded Union to connect the injector to the other injectors/kits in-line.

Units with BY have a Bypasss option essentially taking the specific doser out of operation. Once the Bypass switch is flipped, the dosers stops the ram pump from pulling chemicals into the water line.

  • V: Identifies the type of hose (stands for Viscous)
  • BP: Units with bypass options
  • P: Identifies the type of housing (stands for PVDF or Kynar)
  • IE: Units with side injection option
  • WL: Certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI 61 Standards
  • D: Car wash units
  • HY: Hydroponic / Nutrient Delivery System units
  • AF/VF: Identifies the type of seals (AF = Aflas® or VF = Viton)
  • K: Kalrez
  • II: Identifies the region (North/Central Am. – Dosatron International, Inc.)

How the Water Powered Doser works

Dosatron water-powered, non-electric chemical injectors are the easiest, most reliable way to accurately inject chemicals into water lines. Dosatron injectors work using volumetric proportioning, ensuring that the chemical mixture remains the same regardless of variations in pressure and flow.

When water enters the injector, it triggers the hydraulic motor, which begins moving up and down inside the body of the injector.

On the upstroke, the Dosatron draws fluid up from the concentrate tank in an action similar to a hypodermic syringe.

On the down stroke, the concentrate is displaced into the mixing chamber, where it is mixed with the water flowing through the unit. Then the water-and-chemical mixture is discharged into the water lines.

  3. Concentrate is pulled up into the Dosatron
  4. Concentrate mixes with the incoming water
  5. Blended solution is discharged into the water line
